Permatex Red High Strength 262 Threadlocker is OEM specified. It is an all-purpose high strength threadlocker ideal for fasteners 3/8" to 1" (10mm to 25mm) in size. Designed for securing parts that must withstand heavy shock, vibration or extreme chemical or environmental conditions. Locks and seals while preventing parts from loosening due to vibration. Protects threads from corrosion. Localized heating and hand tools are required to separate parts. Conforms to ASTM D5363 AN0331 (Mil-S-46163A, Type II, Grade O).

Permatex thread locker.

a year ago

This product is the same as there bond. It took awhile to dry but it doesn’t work at all. Save your money there is better threadlocker out there. Wasted my money on this product.

Hello Bill, thank you for your notation that our Permatex Threadlocker is the same product as our Permatex Ultra Bond. However, for reference our Permatex Red High Strength Threadlocker is an all-purpose high strength threadlocker ideal for fasteners 3/8" to 1" (10mm to 25mm) in size. It is designed for securing parts that must withstand heavy shock, vibration or extreme chemical or environmental conditions. It Locks and seals while preventing parts from loosening due to vibration. it will also protects threads from corrosion. Where as our Permatex Ultra Bond Adhesive's formulation was specially designed for a faster, long-lasting bond. can be easily applied and works on nonporous materials including metal, plastics, rubber, vinyl, paper, wood and textiles and is not intended as a fastener similar to a Threadlocker.

This is an extremely high strength thread lock. I used this on the fasteners in my suspension lift kit and after thousands of kilometres of driving everything is still torqued tight
