Nice and stiff paddle

Nice paddle, nice and stiff, very little flex in the paddle. Only downside is the weight, it is noticeably heavier than my other carbon fibre one. That said, unless you are racing or paddling like a mad person, it’s not a big issue.

Mostly better than the original

Bought this to replace a previous pelican SUP paddle I left at the cottage. It’s grip felt natural supporting proper technique. The paddle is as adjustable as others I have used. It doesn’t break down to a shorter length as the original paddle did so it doesn’t fit in the SUP carrying case. However this makes it feel more solid. The lock used for length is simple pegs through holes in the shaft. This provides a very secure length adjustment but can be finicky to line up the pegs on the lock. Olaf with the holes in the shaft. I like the new paddle blade shape. It seems to provide more control.

Q: Does this paddle float ? Does it come apart for storage ?

A: The Vate Stand Up Paddle will only float for a few seconds, it is recommended to use a paddle leash to secure the paddle to your board. It comes in two pieces and it is possible to take it apart for storage however it is best to keep in one piece to avoid loosing the locking clip
