Great value

I found it extremely stable while paddling. I added a paddle clip and leash. Both inexpensive upgrades that make a well rounded rig

Brilliant Fishing Kayak!

Purchased this about 2 weeks ago, and I absolutely love it. I can't stop taking it out, and it just makes fishing so much more entertaining. The only issue i have is the front rod mount is far to reach so you kinda risk tipping over. Oh and it doesn't come with a paddle, or a paddle holder.

Yes, I recommend this product.

storage behind seat fills with water

I found this kayak more tippy than other kayaks, the dry storage small, the storage behind your seat fills with water and doesn't drain, you have to go to shore to drain the water out of it and the cup holder to shallow to hold your beer. Very easy to steer this kayak as it isn't very long.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Good for lakes

I bought this kayak last summer for fishing. It was very affordable on sale, is fairly easy to paddle, and is not too heavy to load onto a roof rack for transport. It can be a bit tippy when you're getting in and out of it. I'm 5'11" and find it comfortable, but if you're much taller than that you might find it cramped. I have stayed on lakes in relatively calm water and would recommend it for this type of scenario. My only complaint is that it doesn't have a paddle tie down.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: kayak-In the picture, there is a fishing rod holder but at the store there is no rod holder. Is it supposed to come with one?

7 Answers
  • A: The rod holder should be attached to the inside of the Kayak in a plastic bag. The kayak should include the rod holder if the kayak is an "Angler" model.

Q: is this a good model for people around 6' tall also in the review it says it comes with a folding anchor what do they meen by this

6 Answers
  • A: You get a 4 prong anchor (about 3 lbs). The prongs fold up to the shaft and the whole thing slips into a storage bag. The line is attached.

Q: What is the weight of this kayak?

5 Answers
  • A: Just under 40 lbs (18 kilos) with the required paddle and safety kit attached. The kayak can be lifted quite easily because it is very well balanced when flipped upside down for carrying.

Q: I see that this comes with the skirt, but does the paddle come separate?

4 Answers
  • A: The paddle comes separately. I bought the $30 basic model and have already added $10 hand grips and $5 drip rings. The pelican paddle is $100 and includes the grips and drip rings. The edge of the paddle is also designed to shed water out away from the kayak. You can buy very expensive paddles in a specialty store, but they chip and break just as easily. Wear out a cheap one, then buy the one you want because by then you will know what you want.

Q: how big is the waterproof hatch how many inches by how many inches could it fit a camping backpack in it

3 Answers
  • A: The hatch is not waterproof. It has not got a rubber or foam seal. The lid just keeps spray off of what is inside. Now, it is only about 4 inches deep. I am not sure what all that space inside the back of the kayak is for??? There does not seem to be any floatation material in there. I have read online that people use a utility knife to cut out the bottom of the storage compartment in order to access the rear void. they also cut some closed cell foam to size and secure it behind the seat with some sort of sealant. This makes the rear void "almost" waterproof. If waterproof is required, you can always use a dry sack. Getting a camping backpack through the little hole may be difficult. You may be able to cram it into the front of the kayak or attach it to the top.
