Cannot beat the price. Matches Parsons Table well. Does the job. Umbrella has been in it for 2 months and never fallen over or gone airbourne. I just keep the umbrella closed and tied when it is really windy.

You get what you pay for. Very flimsy plastic. Won't keep umbrella from falling when filled with water. Don't buy this unless you're going to install in a table.

We have tried other bases but we always come back to this kind. My husband fills if with sand instead of water, it never blows over like some of the other kinds.

Perfect price to keep the umbrella in place

For the price, you can't go wrong. Fill this stand with loose sand, and then top off with water.....the stand will stay put. Keeps mine in place all summer long (except during a hurricane when I bring the umbrella inside).

Q: Did any of the reviewers put water or sand in the base? The description says you need to put water or sand in the base? Did the reviewers actually fill the base, though? While this is not the greatest made product, it has worked fine for use when we put in water.

A: I measured a volume of about 11.75 liters or roughly 3.1 gallons of water I poured in it. With the density of water being 1kg/m^3 = 1kg/L, the total weight will be 11.75kg + the weight of the plastic container, roughly 0.25kg to total 12kg or 26 lbs with water. The density of sand, depending on they type of sand and how moist it is, will be between 1.5 to 2 times more dense than water and thus heavier. So with sand it will be between 18 to 24kg or 40 to 50 lbs.
