not worth the money

Bought this on sale, brought it home in hopes to shred some old papers. I would tear off the staples so they didn't get mixed in with the shredded paper. This machine struggled to shred 6 sheets of 20# paper (regular copier paper) even though it says it can shred 12. So I kept it to 4-5 sheets at a time. Let them pass through and let the machine come up to speed again before putting in another 4-5 sheets. I'd shred about 20 bundles of 4-5 sheets, then stop for the day. Today being the 3rd day, I started working on the 4-5 sheet routine after 5 bundles. The machine started to smoke and the smell of plastic burning. Now the whole house stinks of burning plastic...on Christmas eve. "Thanks" CanTire. I'll be returning this on Boxing Day. I definitely would not recommend this machine. Plus the fact that even when its shredding its really loud. It should have a decibel rating.

This is a good basic shredder. The only improvement I would recommend is that the basket should be larger to hold more paper before you have to empty it.

Not a bad shredder, bought it on sale. The reservoir could be bigger than it is so that it holds more shredding before you have to dump it. It has a separate opening to shred CDs but the dumb thing is it deposits the plastic in the same reservoir as the paper - should plastic be separate from paper when recycling? Also, it shows the credit cards should be shredded in the paper shredder intake, not the CD intake.
The shredder is quieter than my last shredder and rolls freely on our laminate floor. It says it can do 12 pages but wouldn't try it with more than 6 - it was really struggling trying to shred 5 pages at a time.
Yes, I recommend this product.
