This feeder caters to many bird types including cardinals who like a bit more room to sit. The large opening on the top of the seed holder allows for quick and easy refills while the openings along the bottom allow for a free flow of bird seed.

Q: How does the plastic black piece stay attached to the bottom of the scoop? We just bought one of these feeders from Canadian Tire and we can’t fill it up because the seed just falls right through the bottom of the scoop.

Q: Is the frame around the bottom (black) ALSO METAL? We have an earlier version of this feeder and the squirrels broke the plastic ring that locks the cup in place. A metal ring would be sensible so odds are it's STILL PLASTIC...

A: Thank-you for your note. The new model is a coated plastic. A little bit stronger. May we suggest that if the feeder is pole mounted that you add a squirrel baffle under it which will keep the squirrels from damaging the feeder. Not the feeder and baffle need to be 8 feet away from any tree or out building/ house and above the ground 4 feet.
