The carafe is a high quality glass, and separates easily from the frame/handle for washing. The press portion comes apart easily so that you can rinse the press screens. It works very well and makes a great cup of coffee.

Q: Can I leave this in the refrigerator overnight so I can have cold coffee in the morning?

A: yes, but with the grounds still in the press this would produce a very bitter coffee as it would still be in contact and keep extracting overnight......but if that's what you like......
