Small but mighty and rugged

I’ve been really impressed with the updates Goal Zero made to the new Goal Zero Yeti 500 Portable Power Station series. The move to LiFePO4 with the increased recharge cycles makes this feel way more dependable for long-term use, and the faster wall charging has honestly been a huge improvement when turning around gear between trips. The updated port covers and added weather resistance are a nice touch for life outside, especially here in the PNW where gear actually gets used in the rain and dirt. The fast-charge USB-C port has also been awesome for keeping my laptop and camera gear topped off without needing extra adapters. Overall the ruggedness and reliability of the Yeti 500 has made it a permanent part of my camping and travel kit.

Been using this thing as a permanent station in the truck to power camera gear for shoots on the go. It’s a life saver for long shoot days. Great capacity no complaints.

Great power station + durable for real world use

I’ve owned many portable chargers and even larger power stations, but have always had to baby the gear for camping and road trips. Rushing to get it out of rain or avoiding morning dew, or having to buy an additional storage bag to protect it. With the Yeti 500 I’ve completely stopped worrying about that or durability. Goal Zero is leading the way in electronics that are meant to be used outdoors not just indoors or in an office.

Charging port issues, again :(

Broke again… this is my second unit in one year. Same issue that I had with the last one, charge port stop working. I hear this is common even if they(support) tell you different.
