No energy star certification

I just bought this freezer because the online description indicates it is energy star certified, but when I unpacked it I realized it was not certified at all, and actually is on the high end of energy consumption for such freezers. Had I been properly informed by the product description I would have purchased another freezer with better energy effiency.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Why do you call this a 7 cu ft freezer when it only measures 6.28 cu ft?

  • A: A 7 cubic foot freezer is likely labeled as such because the listed capacity is a nominal or advertised volume, not a precise, exact measurement of the internal space. The actual internal usable space, around 6.28 cubic feet, is often a few tenths of a cubic foot less due to factors like internal components, structural walls, and shelving, which reduce the available storage volume.

  • A: This freezer is garage ready i.e. it can be used in unheated/non-cooled locations where the ambient temperature is between 0F and 110F. The freezer is not designed to be used in areas where it can be exposed to rain or direct sunlight.
