WORX WA0863 Landroid Dual Off Limits Digital Fence Kit for Robotic Mower with Magnetic Strips

$179.99

Product Details

Off Limits Digital Fencing keeps your Landroid out of your most sensitive areas in the middle of your yard, or away from temporary fixtures. The original boundary wire that comes with the Landroid when you purchase it is meant to be a permanent installation that stays there for the life of your Landroid, and marks the borders of your lawn. Off Limits Digital Fencing is for the landscaping features or recreational areas that are in the middle of your yard, where it would be a hassle to run boundary wire around. Have a fire pit or lawn furniture that won’t be there in a few months, just lay down the Off Limits wire and then pick it back up in the fall. Permanent boundary wire is often buried, Off Limits just lays on the grass. It’s also a great way to save on using the original boundary wire.

  • Eliminates the need for directing main boundary wire around certain obstacles or areas that you want Landroid to avoid

  • Magnetic strip creates no-mow zones without using main boundary wire

  • Section off parts of your lawn that you would like Landroid to stay away from like flower beds in the middle of the yard

  • Perfect for seasonal, non-permanent objects like trampolines, lawn furniture, and fire pits

  • Easy to install, simply insert the off limits module onto Landroid and lay magnetic strip around areas you do not want Landroid to enter

  • Compatible with Landroid models WR140, WR143, WR150, and WR153 only

Makes a surprising difference to efficiency

Our garden is split into two zones, front and back, with the side garden part of the front. Due to where the best location ended up being for the base station, there was always a good chance that Landroid would hit the border wire _after_ the base station whenever he wanted to return to base. It meant he was often making extra loops right around the border, round the front of the house, before returning to base. Because he always follows the same path, it resulted in noticeable tracks around the edge. This module really changed that and made it possible to add several strategic shortcuts to the perimeter to bypass sections. Now the chance of him hitting the border and having to travel a long way is drastically reduced, and even if he manages to find the 3m section of the border just after the last shortcut in the back garden, he's still going to come to another shortcut at the side to avoid him having to go all the way around. This also improved the zone control, where he'd often "jump the fence" between the front and back garden zones. Now he always bounces off, only navigating between the zones when he's following the border wire to move between them or to return to the base. It seems quite expensive, so I put off trying it for a while, but it was a worthwhile addition in the end that's really improved things. Quick and easy to install the shortcuts to an existing setup and like the border wire itself, barley noticeable once the graw grows over it. I haven't used the lengthy spare magnetic strip to fence off any areas but it's handy to have if we ever need to.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

I recently planted a tree in my backyard and didn’t want my landroid to mow the young sap over, so I bought this. It works almost exactly as advertised, and makes me wonder why this is an add-on and not just built in. The only thing I would improve is if there was a way to expand the radius through the app instead of manually adjusting.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great for placing around a chair, table, or garden. If placing chairs, tables in the yard you can utilize this accessory and change areas vs adding/replacing boundary wires each year.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    • A: Hello there. The landroid comes with a charging base which is also where the boundary wire connects. I do recommend while you are installing the wire, place the Landroid on the base and let it charge while you go through the installation. But should you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to contact our Solution Center Team at 866-354-9679 Monday through Friday from 9 am until 6 pm EST. We'd be more than happy to assist you

Q: My understanding is that the boundary wire allows the mower to 'edge' along the boundary by following wire. Will this also allow it to mow along it, or will it act more like a 'rebound' and cause the landroid to just change direction? Ex: Raise flower bed

Q: Can the mower work inside of off limits area ? I have a small area not connected in any way to the front or back yard , it is small enough to complete on a single charge . I was thinking of setting boundaries and placing mower inside and letting it go

    • A: Hello! Thank you for your question. The Landroid can only work in areas that are within the one delineated by the boundary wire. If the wire can't be installed in the area in question, the Landroid would not be able to work there. I hope this helps!

Q: How long can the magnetic strip be left outside (in use) before it needs replacing?

    • A: Thank you for your question. Unless the magnetic strip is broken apart by something, there should be no need to replace it. The strip is basically a magnet that interacts with the module letting the Landroid know it can't go into that area. The only thing for you to keep in mind is that the two ends of the strip need to be connected to get the best results with this accessory.
