The 20 oz Contigo Kids Cleanable AUTOSPOUT® bottle impressed me with its excellent ergonomics, as it is comfortable for children to hold and easy to open with just one hand. Its portability is excellent, featuring a practical size that makes it easy to carry to school, on outings, or to sports activities without taking up too much space. In terms of insulation, it keeps drinks cool for several hours—perfect for hot days. The AUTOSPOUT® system performs very well, preventing spills thanks to its secure, easy-to-clean lid. Furthermore, the materials feel sturdy and of high quality—ideal for daily use by children. It is definitely a practical, safe, and durable bottle.

That’s certainly frustrating and not the experience we want you to have with your Contigo Aubrey Easy Clean Leakproof Spillproof Water Bottle.

The Aubrey bottle is designed with an Easy Clean lid that helps prevent buildup and allows for thorough cleaning. The suction/vent hole plays an important role in airflow, which ensures smooth sipping. If that vent becomes blocked, it can interrupt liquid flow and make the bottle difficult or impossible to use properly. In some cases, blockages can occur due to residue buildup from flavored beverages, powdered drink mixes, juice, or mineral deposits from water.

To help prevent this in the future, we recommend:

Disassembling the lid (if applicable) for a thorough cleaning

Rinse the vent area immediately after each use

Use a small cleaning brush to gently clear the suction/vent hole

Allowing all components to fully dry before reassembly

That said, the lid should not become permanently blocked under normal use and proper care. If cleaning did not resolve the issue, it may indicate a defect or obstruction that shouldn’t have occurred.

Sticker residue can sometimes be stubborn, but a few methods often help remove it safely without damaging the bottle:

Warm soapy water – Soak a cloth in warm, soapy water and rub gently on the residue.

Rubbing alcohol or vinegar – Apply a small amount to a cloth or cotton ball and wipe the area. This can break down the adhesive without harming the bottle’s surface.

Oil-based solutions – A light coating of olive oil or coconut oil can help loosen sticky residue. Rub gently and then wash thoroughly with soap and water afterward.

We also recommend avoiding abrasive scrubbing, as it can scratch the bottle’s finish.
