I use these mostly in winter but it's good all year round. Birds are out right now devouring it. Woodpecker showed up the same day when I first put it out a couple weeks ago in the woodpecker suet cake holder designed for their tail feathers to rest upon like a tree trunk, I also bought from Canadian Tire. Smaller birds grab the bits dropped on the deck from other clinging birds pecking at it. Good all-around suet cakes.
