Water fountain paint didn’t last

I bought this water fountain less than 4 weeks ago and the paint has started chipping off. I was happy with it until I noticed the paint problem.

Lovely but difficult to clean

Lovely to watch and listen to but the lid fills with water yet doesn't drain. This makes it difficult to clean. Also the manual states to keep kids and pets away as water is not drinkable. Birds from my yard were on it right away. I didn't want to harm them so I returned it.
