Just an unlucky one-off or a manufacturing flaw?

I bought 2 and 1 broke as soon as I tested the mechanism before using it. The closure for the hooks are spring-loaded and on one of the hooks the metal tab that keeps the spring in place broke off so the hook no longer stayed closed. The other hook is still working well after 1 day of use. Hope that one lasts as long as the one that I bought my mom several years ago and is still working well. The hook appears well made and sturdy except for this 1 problem. The hook can still be used if it no longer stays closed but items hung on it are not as secure when it stays open.
