Small chip, but otherwise fine.

I have never had a problem with the seal, however one of them does have a chip after a couple of months. If it wasn't for the chip I would have given it five stars. Looking through other reviews, it seems to be in a similar place near or on the curve towards the long side. I do wash them in the dishwasher, and I can't say I have been overly careful with them. Capacity is okay, and I mainly stack them while empty for storage. Used in the microwave, fridge, and freezer without issue. I have two sets, so rotating the lids seems to have improved the durability of them, as I will often only have four or five out of the twenty lidded at a time. I use them as bowls or storage containers everyday. I don't have the courage to throw one in the oven to see if it survives, though mini-casseroles would be nice.

  • A: Hi Randy, The container lids are pretty sturdy - tough plastic-like material with a recessed rubber-like seal. I think you would be fine to use the bottom and top within a microwave oven without issue. I would however, not recommend using the lid within an electric or gas oven. The glass seems sturdy enough to withstand the heat from the oven though. I hope that this information is helpful as you make your potential decision to purchase the containers.
