Needs better instructions

In the end it is excellent. But assembly was difficult because the instructions weren't clear. It needed to explain the need to tighten the bolts using the tools. We had thought the item was defective until we figured out how to use the tools.

Completely deceptive advertising

This was an attractive item which we bought yesterday, assuming we could rely on the description of it on the website. But according to the manufacturer's notes contained INSIDE the package, that online description is 100% false. The manufacturer specifies that this seat is NOT rust-proof and is NOT recommended for any exposure to the outdoors, in wet or cold weather conditions. In fact, it is utterly dishonest to even call it a "garden bench" -- it is in no way suitable to sit in a garden, as we had intended. Canadian Tire should be ashamed of itself for deliberately deceiving the customer, when the manufacturer clearly intends to be honest.
