Works in a pinch, but burns too fast, too hot, and not a lot of smoke penetration.

Not bad, but not great either. This brand of smoker pellets works in a pinch for a single cook, but I would definitely recommend other brands above this one. The pellets seem to burn VERY hot in my electric Pit Boss pellet smoker and they seem to feed through my auger a little faster than some others, making it run hot and overcooking my food. I have to lower the temp on my smoker lower than expected in order to accommodate for the faster burn on these pellets, they seem to run very hot. They do generate a lot of smoke and they smell fantastic, but the flavor seems quite muted in my meats even after several hours of smoking on lower heats. I much prefer the Pit Boss brand pellets over these, and I don’t feel they warrant their asking price. I went through an entire bag for a 4-5 hour smoke at 150-200 degrees, which is pretty disappointing, especially considering they are a “brand name” smoker pellet.

Try a different flavour, than hardwood, and buy a small bag, until you find your flavour

It does produce smoke, but it doesn't seem to add flavour to the food,, I would suggest to buy a different flavour, hickory, other than hardwood.
