Love the size of bbq. Wish it had wheels to make it easier to move. When the lid is closed it has a bigger gap on one side not equal to the gap on the other side of it. Somewhat warped.

Better than I expected based on reviews that I saw,

Some of the reviews stated that the BBQ did not get hot enough, which concerned me, but based on other reviews, I decided to take a chance, and I am glad I did. Perhaps other people used a smaller gauge extension cord was used, or just too far from the breaker/fuse panel. I also checked performance. FOOD TEST - started from cold - just with 4 hot dogs (wieners) to test - 27 minutes to cook, .58 KWH = 6.96 cents Nicely cooked, no burning

The most common cause of low heat is:
- Blown fuse of overloaded circuit. -> Test grill on more than 1 outlet. (Preheating 15-20 minutes each time, to test heat)
- Incorrect temperature setting -> Ensure knob turned to MAX and controller light behind knob is illuminated
- Faulty heating element. -> Please reach out to customer care by phone or email at: 1-800-263-9768 or support@vidabbqs.com to obtain a replacement. Hope this helps!

No flare ups

I was looking for a barbecue to cook chicken on that would not flare up. This barbecue matches what I was looking for. I have cooked a whole chicken on it and legs and thighs and did not have a single flare up either time. The cook time is the same time that it would be using a propane barbecue.
