Decent rod, poor reel

Got this combo on sale last year and fished it mostly from a paddleboard. I prefer a shorter rod on the board and this is a 6'6" so great size for this. However, the handle screw knob comes loose all the time. Also, closing the bail is a bit stiff - not a deal breaker but it's clunky. I'm swapping the reel out this year

False advertising

Love the stick! But false advertising... the reel is not ugly ita shakespear and i broke it in a month. Got it as a gift so dont want to lose the stick. Bought a better reel. Just dont be fooled with this combo

I gave my grandson his choice of any rod & reel in the store and he went straight to this one. He knew what he wanted and we were barely sitting down at home and he was out the door to try it on the river that flows out back of his apartment. Yes, he caught a fish.....
