Works fine inverted

Filter works fine. For folks complaining about water running through, invert your Aeropress when brewing. So the plunger is on the counter, then the brew chamber sits on top with the plunger partially inserted. Fill with grinds then hot water and stir occasionally. When ready, add the filter and lid, then invert and press into cup. Only reason it’s a 4 is because it gums up over time and is a bit of a pain to clean fully.

This is a poor design unfortunately. Coffee just runs through it, even though I changed the grind. Wish I could get my money back.

Not What I Thought

This steel filter did not meet my needs. I prefer the paper filter as it allows you to vary the grind of coffee that you use and still get good results. Water runs through the steel filter as fast as you can pour it into the Aeropress which doesnt allow the coffee anytime to sit in the press. It’s almost like having no filter at all as it basically gets ensures you get no grounds in the cup.

I agree with the other comment. the water flows through quickly until the coffee get's soaked. So I run it through twice... Need two cups but it does make a great coffee. Happy to be avoiding the paper filters which are not easy to manage when camping.
