Not recommended for use on an automobile

I was using this to hide a spare key on my car. The unit itself is waterproof and sized well (for my key at least). The magnets are the problem. While they are strong, they will rust and likely fail. There is a loop on the unit which I tied a piece of rebar wire through as a backup in case the magnets failed. When I eventually did lock my keys in the car, the rebar wire was still tied together but the keybox was gone. Only thing that makes sense is that the magnets rusted out and the loop broke that had the rebar wire tied through it. For applications other than automobiles, I think this is a good option.

Great design

Smaller than what I expected. I will be ordering the larger one also. It does not fit a car key fob but that is what the larger one is for. As for the design, it is durable and water tight and the magnet is very strong. No need to worry if I will loose it driving down the road if I have it stuck to the bottom of my car. I will find a use for this one and definitely order the larger one.

Not sure how this works

The magnet is not strong enough to attach to anything. Neither is the sticky tape provided. I ended up using a screw in the hole on one side. You cannot screw that in too far as it won’t be flush due to its location, as it makes it’s lopsided.
