Small fireplace makes room look big; creates true illusion of comfort and warmth

This is a well designed and well built all-steel body traditional-looking stove-type fireplace, with optional heater at two levels. When on the lower level of heating, my living room temperature rose 2 degrees Celcius in less than an hour. The heat doesn't blast at you; it's subtle and simply fills the room evenly, almost imperceptibly. Most of the time I just leave the heat options off and enjoy the glowing log and flames. That is the most economical way to use the stove/space heater. There is a small amount of light from the bulb inside the "log" that escapes through little openings in the case or shell, but by putting a bit of aluminum foil in just the right spot, I was able to block the light from shining outside the unit's shell. There are too many good things about this fireplace to hold that against the manufacturer, although I think they should correct that simple problem, so I am docking one star in the rating. The glowing log and flames look even better than some of the more expensive fireplaces out there! I am fussy about an electric fireplace looking realistic, and have warmly accepted this one.
