Q: Will this work on a pacific Energy alderlea ? It has a cast iron box built around the actual fire box so I’m wondering if this would actually work since it’s not sitting directly on the stove top.

Q: Will this fan work with a wood burning fireplace? I was thinking of placing it in front of the metal screen doors on the hearth.

A: Hi Sparkes! Thank you for your question. The Ecofan is not designed, nor recommended for use in front of wood burning fireplaces. The Ecofan is designed to be used on the top of free standing stoves. The functionality and longevity of the Ecofan is very much based on temperature and placement. The Ecofan requires the direct heat from the stove top to travel up through the bottom of the Ecofan (within the recommended ranges for each model), and it also requires to be positioned on the stove top where it will receive enough cooler, room temperature air to flow through the fins on the top of the Ecofan.
