The strainers work fine. Capture the debris that otherwise goes down the drain . Also stops larger objects (like knives) from slithering down and obstructing the drain. (Gets caught on P trap and the restricts flow) They are a bit finicky to set up so that they drain when you want them to. Once adjusted correctly, works fine.

The rubber plus at the bottom cant be lifted high enough to let the water through. It doesn’t work in out sink that seems quite average.
