    The pan was robust enough to withstand the weight of the 60 gallon water heater being dropped on to the edge of it. For my water heater it had the drain in the wrong place - it needed to be in the base, not on the side. However, a 1.5" hole cutter and a new brass drain tube sealed with mastic solved that problem.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    After my old hot water heater started leaking and created a mess I was glad to see this product and have incorporated it with my new hot water tank just for peace of mind

    Plastic is not very heavy duty. Not sure how long it will last. At least my water tank is not sitting on the cement floor.

    Q: Why does the website description say it can be used with gas water heaters, yet the label clearly states in several places that it's for electric tanks only, DO NOT USE WITH GAS HEATERS. Waste of my time buying this and get home to see the label.

    • A: Hello and apologies for the error. The plastic pans are for use with electric heaters only and the aluminum pans are for gas heaters. We are working on updating the website to reflect the correct information.
