Pipe dope on brass threads

Worked well I was trying to seal the threads on new brass union to brass valve and could not get it to stop having a slow drip with just treflon tape. Putting on a little pipe dope on the threads and over the teflon tape coated threads solved the problem

I'm not sure what this is for

a month ago

It has ethylene glycol in it - which is antifreeze. So it can't be used in potable water applications or anything upstream. I can't actually think of anywhere in my house I could use this. Maybe it's for cars?

Q: Would this product work for sealing metal pipe fittings for a diesel fuel tank?

A: I personally use it to seal pipe fittings on my Semi fluid pump for hauling crude oil and gas. Have never had a problem with it and the oil is very hot, plus pushing pressure also. Works well.
