    Sump Pump

Good value, but I don't like the type of level switch that came with this unit. The vertically sliding float type is better, especially for smaller sumps. This unit came with a float that hangs off a wire. It needs a bit of space to function correctly, and my sump is only 1.5' diameter. The pump itself is fast and quiet.

Fantastic. Works great. Easy to setup

No trouble getting this to setup. Make sure you get the right adapter to connect to your existing pipe. Works so well. Made solid.

    For A Few Dollars More…

I needed a replacement sump pump for the one that had suddenly quit at my father’s home. This unit was on sale costing a few more bucks than its shelf mate..the identical one that had broken down. It has better features and hopefully will last longer.

Q: Will this pump operate from a 12 inch diameter hole and will it provide a minimum of 8 ft of lift? Also do you have strainer baskets that the pump could sit in with the bottom of the hole being sand?

    • A: 8 ft lift, no problem. 12 Dia. hole could be as float may get hung up on edges of hole. Not recommended for sand, but you could raise it up off the bottom.

Q: Am I supposed to remove it out of the pit (water basin) at the start of every snow season so it won't freeze and break? And then put it back in spring? Is this the case with all submersible pumps or just this one? You never know when snow starts melting..

    • A: I would not leave any pump at all in a situation where it would freeze. even cast iron will crack like an egg when full of water and frozen.

    • A: If you need to run the pump without the float, you can just plug the pump directly into an outlet and it will run until you disconnect the cord. This is manual.
