I was a bit surprised I read the reviews of the scraper bar, the paddles and went for this model with a metal auger because i do not have paved driveway. The first storm the machine worked great an occasional few stones chuck out on the lawn, No shoes makes this very difficult to keep up off the stones. I bought a new scraper bar and paddles in advance but when flipping the paddles I saw the stones damaged the back housing. housing is not available and this renders the product useless.

Yes, I recommend this product.

This little thing is a beast!

I have a snowplow service, so I am responsible only for the public sidewalk in front of my house, and for the sidewalk on my property. I am impressed with how this machine cuts through the icy pack that the snowplows (municipal and my contractor) leave. I can remove the snow, and the snow on the sidewalks of my neighbors, without too much drain on the battery. (I live in Western New York, where lake-effect--read heavy--snow is common). I may need to find out how to make better adjustments on the auger speed, since I've found myself covered in fine snow!

Broke during first use

I sucked up a rock approximately 1.5" in diameter and it cracked the plastic housing, now snow just sprays everywhere. I contacted EGO for a replacement and they said they don't have any in stock and don't know when a replacement will be sent. My guess is that I won't see one for the entire winter as I've been waiting over a month now.

A: Hi there Norm! The runtime will be dependent on the amount of snow, how dense it is and the speed in which you move through the snow. It has the capacity to clear up to one 12 car driveway. Hopefully that helps!
