We love the size of this storage unit. We’re able to put our washer and dryer in it outside at our cottage, my husband put it together in good time however he did mention the base and back wall didn’t meet properly, he had to add an extra board for reinforcement.

Q: Do I need to place anything between the ground and the shed?

A: Yes! I made a wood plinth of treated 2x4 boards which was placed on river rocks. A couple of coats of clear varnish make it waterproof to a degree, but it must be kept off bare earth. Even sitting on cement blocks would work. I am pleased with the shed.

A: It can be left directly outdoors. It stays dry inside, provided one does not do two things to it- 1. Don't leave the lid open. 2. Don't throw it into a swimming pool or any large body of water.

Q: Is this suitable for storing cushions from patio furniture? Is it sealed enough to prevent rain, critters from getting in? Also can you leave the two doors closed and access from the top only to add or remove cushions?

A: Rain, yes, critters, no. I wouldn’t store cushions in it, or I would have something like a table on which to put the cushions. It’s actually quite a large-ish shed. You can open the top without opening the front doors.

Q: What size padlock will fit to lock lid and doors?

A: I tried a standard size and it does NOT fit. You need at the very least a Master Lock Laminated Steel 44mm Padlock, 1-1/2-in Shackle (#046-1520-8). I have this one and it just barley fits.
