This 10kg bag of Sifto Safe Step ice salt will make short work of slippery winter conditions. The rock salt is crushed to an ideal size that melts ice down to -15 degrees Celsius while also providing traction on icy walkways and steps.The built-in handle makes spreading the salt simple and mess-free. The plain sodium chloride formula provides melt power without unwanted additives.

I've been buying salt for personal use at my house, and for the past few years, for the Rental Properties that I manage. I recently bought 8 bags at once. When the Canadian Tire employee loaded the bags on my truck, it sounded like they were full of rocks. I delivered them to the Apt. building. When unloading them from my truck, the bags were solid like a rock. I assumed they just needed to be broken apart/loosened from the solid mound. They did break apart a certain amount but most of the salt stayed in mounds bigger then my fist and cannot be spread on the walkways. They are a complete waste of money, not to mention the waste of time I spent delivering them to the buildings and trying to break them down to make them usable. Now, I have to go back to the buildings to collect the useless bags and return them. I don't know how the Canadian Tire employee, that loaded them on my truck, did not notice that they were basically a bag of rock.

A: Not big pieces but not too fine either you want the size that this bag has medium sized and this product is very good for melting snow and ice and traction but over time will tend to clump in the bag unless you somewhat seal it up sort of!! That’s the only issue I’ve had!!

A: Sifto Safe Step Ice Melt products are not recommended to be used for roof melting applications. They should only use products specifically designed for melting ice on roofs. A: Safe Step Ice Melt is non-toxic, as it is the same salt that is in your salt shaker. However, it can cause skin irritation or burn existing cuts. So it is safe on a toxic level, but could irritate paws, especially injurred ones.
