Formed a rusty precipitate.

Got 3 jugs a few days ago. Shook it up real well then i could hear the grit in the bottom. It clogged the vacuum hose in all the jugs. So it was taking an hour to drain 1 jug even while agitating as I went. So i stopped completely. Got a bucket strained all the bottles through an old T-shirt. That shirt looked like i strained a bucket of rusty nails. Was 1/8th cup of rust or more from each jug. The container sucked fine after all the grit was gone and jug was rinsed…and this time the jug was empty in less than 10 minutes. The moss did turn black so hopefully it works…will likely need another application in the fall or spring again either way was a pain in the neck for as simple as it should have been.

The moss in my lawn was very heavy this spring. I used a de-thatcher first and raked up the majority of the moss. I applied the Moss Out after according to the instructions. The moss starting turning black within 24 hours and pretty certain all the moss is dead after 48 hours. Only complaint is not knowing how much Moss Out is left in the container.

Q: Quick question....Do I have to water the lawn before applying this "MossOut" OR do I just spray as I go? Does the lawn need to be damp first, before application?

Q: My Sprayer is much more efficient and can be turned off just by releasing the trigger without having to turn a knob all the time. Please tell me how many ounces of this product are to be mixed with a 1 gallon of water. Again need to know OUNCES / 1 GALLON

    A: Apply in early spring when moss is actively growing and the weather is cool and humid. If the infestation of moss is heavy, repeat the above application every four weeks until desired results are obtained. A rainfall will remove the active ingredient to the proper place, I will not recommend applying the moss out when it's raining. When the moss blackens after two or three weeks and then use a spring-tine rake to remove it. Mix one part with 19 parts water (6.8 oz in 1 gallon of water). Apply mixed solution at 0.8-2.5 gallons per 100 ft2 (10-30 fl. oz./yard2). For moss thicker than one inch use the higher rate.

Q: How soon can I apply fertilizer to my lawn after using this product?

  • A: You can apply fertilizer 3-4 weeks after applying Wilson Moss Out if it was applied all over the lawn. If it was only applied on moss surfaces, a lawn fertilizer can be applied now avoiding the areas that were treated with Moss Out.

Q: Can I use moss out after I have  fertilized  With Scott’s. That has iron in it, or will it be too much and kill the grass?

Q: I am using the MOSSout model with water hose attachment but for smaller places it would be too much waste. I would like to use the remaining concentrate in 2 gallon hand-pump.. In what ratio I hould dilute the remaining concentrate with water?
