A: Thank you for your question! You can use pliers, snips or strong scissors to snip the bib off of the bottom. The rest of the pin will then fall out and it will open up.

A: Hi Jamrock28, it would possibly work for soldering but it is not advertised as a soldering iron. The reason is because there are no dedicated soldering tips in this kit that are plated for protection during soldering. Each of the tips are brass and will probably solder but depending on the flux and solder alloy, it could destroy the tips because of not having any protective plating / coating.
