Bought it while on sale to remove a Honda crankshaft pulley bolt (which are incredibly tight) and it had no issues. Will be good to have around for the really tight bolts that my smaller impact gun can't handle.

Works well, but not long

I originally purchased this item in July 2023. I like the torque, ease of use, and long-lasting battery charge. It has ample power to remove lug nuts and other heavy-duty nuts and bolts. Truly, it replaces a compressor-powered impact wrench without the bother of the air hose. Unfortunately, it stopped working in Apr 26. At first, I thought the battery needed charging, but when I placed it on the charger, it gave me a "defective battery" indication. The battery has a 3-year warranty so, armed with my original receipt, I returned it to CT for an exchange. I was told they couldn't help me as their policy was only a 1-year exchange but that I would get help bay calling their head office, which I did. I was given a reference number and told to return the item to the store. I did and was given a new battery. Great! When I installed the fully charged new battery in the driver, a small puff of smoke came from the tool on the first trigger, and then the tool stopped working. I would have returned the tool to CT, except that I no longer had the original receipt. It was kept with the battery when I returned it to the store—so now I'm euchred. I ended up purchasing. a new one while it was discounted last week, but it's still a bummer. All that to say: Keep your receipt!

A: Yes, the Maximum batteries are interchangeable with all Maximum branded tools. However, for the 40V system you will need a 20/40V battery which is included with this kit. This included battery will operate on other Maximum tools, including the 20V systems. However, older batteries (pre-2022 manufacture) designed specifically for 20V tools will not properly operate a 40V tool.
