The tool has a 6.0-amp motor that produces 11,000 no-load rpm. With a well-designed grip, lock-on slide switch and two-position side handle, this workhorse can get the job done.     Best Grinder Avaliable

    I run a maintenance department in a industrial facility and this is the only brand of grinder I buy now. We've tried most other brands and none last as long as these do, grinding for hours a day. Yes they do eventually burn out but as long as you know when to give the tool a break. The unfortunate part is Canadian Tire still advertises this product on the website but have not had it in stock for years which is why I have knocked off a star.

    Not for cutting

    After I bought the tool and read the instructions I see it says it can only be used with grinding and sanding discs, not with cutting discs. The website brags about a strong motor for cutting. The box says nothing about not being able to use it for cutting. It worked great for a grinding job I needed it for, but it is disappointing that they do not let you know on the box and website that it cannot be used with cutting discs.

    I can't use this without ear plugs. It was this loud from new in the box. Other than that, it is difficult to figure out how to install the two pieces that secure the discs in place - the pieces install in different ways for the thin cutting disc and for the thicker grinding disc. Need to be careful to secure them properly because of the high speed. The small button that locks the rotor when tightening down a disc, it's difficult to press, so replacing a disc is not that easy. I had no issues with the disc loosening up by itself. I find the slim cutting discs stay too close to the machine protecting plate. The unit it's not too heavy to hold and the weight is well balanced. However the handle is too thick for small hands to hold is securely. The cord did hold well. The On/Off button works well - hold position and lock position, the button is well positioned easy to reach with the thumb. Unit has a single speed. You can unscrew the side handle, however for safety reasons it is not recommended to hold the unit with a single hand. When holding the unit with both hands it feels very secure,

    Q: Can this be used with a Diamond cutting wheel to cut stone tiles?

    • A: Item 054-7133 should not be used in cutting applications as it does not come with a “cutting” guard. A better option for cutting stone would be a 054-7131 (AG40-85P) with Bosch accessory 18CG-45E Cutting Guard (available through Bosch as a special order)
