Q: Do these give off any kind of heat? I want to put it in an extendable desk lamp that I will be pretty close too, many bulbs give off too much heat to be comfortable for long.

- A: It seems that LED bulbs are not compatible with all run-of-the-mill dimmer switches. Chances are that an LED bulb will not operate properly with an older existing dimmer switch. Truthfully, LED bulb labelling should indicate that the bulb is dimmable only with SELECTED dimmer switches. Dimmer switch packaging these days will indicate whether the product is compatible with LED bulbs.5 years agoHelpful?
