    Put it up anyway.

I was a bit disappointed as one of the covers were scratched on both ends, not broken but scratched.

    complete failure

After I installed, turned it on, it worked for two minutes then quit. Unit was bent when I took it out of the box, really cheaply made. lots of other choices so I returned and found the same kind of light elsewhere. Better made less money.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Hello, this looks to be a one off defective fixture. Thank you for your feedback. Canarm

Great light if you want replacable bulbs, as long as you are very careful with the cover

We had three similarly styled light fixtures in an office, and one of them broke. As it is virtually impossible to find this kind of fixture with replacable bulbs anymore, we were very happy to find this one at our local Canadian Tire. The first one came with a cracked cover. It had obviously been opened before and we suspect that it had been returned, as it did not have original stickers, etc. To give Canadian Tire credit where it is due, they replaced it at a nearby location when the location at which the first was purchased had no more inventory. When we received the new one, we could certainly understand why it cracked, as it requires great care when taking off and putting on the cover. However, once this part is taken care of, it has been a great light. Quiet. No significant delays when turning on/off. Enables me to pick my own bulb colour and to replace it (rather than the whole fixure) when/if the light bulb blows, and bulb costs are still very reasonable. Thanks, Canadian Tire, for still carrying this kind of fixture.

Q: Can narrow tubes be used in this fixture? I just bought this at the downtown Toronto shop and the sales lady gave me a pair of F32T8 which aren't as wide as the tubes I'm used to.

    1 Answer
    • A: You can use T8 (best option to get greatest energy efficiency savings) but you can also use 2xF25W, F34W or F40W T12.  Please note, T12 tubes will not last as long as the T8 tubes.

Q: Do you have this type of light with pull cord for off & on

    1 Answer
    • A: We do not have this model with an on/off pull cord. It isn’t available in a wrap. You would have to go towards a shop light but it wouldn’t have a lens or be flush mounted to the ceiling. Examples of 48” shop lights:  52-3234-2 and 52-3243-0

Q: How To Remove Cover Without Cracking It? I am about to buy this to replace an identical one that is broken and had to throw out the clear plastic cover ages ago because it broke when I changed the tubes.

    1 Answer
    • A: Here is the installation advice from the manufacturer's technical support desk: 1. Go to 1 end of light.      2. Press up in the very middle at the end of the lens. 3. Push lens toward the end of the light. 4. This allows the opposite end enough room to come out and you will have your lens in your hand. If you need any further assistance, please contact their technical support line at 1-800-265-1833.
