Top Quality Nest Protect Replacement

Seamless Plug and Play, this product allows you to add the wire adapter to the Nest Protect wiring, plug in the unit and mount using the same Nest bracket. First Alert, couldn't have made it any easier. Adding my First Alert SC5's to my Google Home account was effortless by clicking on the link when prompted. The quality of this product is exactly the same as my Nest Protect. I'm set for another 10 years of protection. I will definitely be recommending this product to friends and family.

bought this to replace my nest protect it is in no way a replacemnt for the nest sub par at best the nest protect is by far a superiour product

Poor Substitute

Purchased 2 of these units because the Protect is discontinued. No pathlight, no heads up, no sream check. While in use, multiple false smoke alarms. Returned. Shame on Google for even mentioning these as replacement for Protect. DO NOT BUY.

No Pathlight light

Just purchased 2 of these today Nov 8, 2025. to replace our Nest units that are coming due for retirement soon. Google says they are a direct replacement, however we don't really like the 6ea 3v CR123A batteries required. These are not as common as the AA's the Nest used. We figured it wasn't a deal breaker but discovered after installation the Pathlight light feature wasn't on these units. They appear to have one in the picture but it is just a translucent square no light emits from it. Basically now there the same as any other detector with an app but more expensive. Will have to return them i guess.

Hi Joes, the SC5 is designed to use CR123A batteries, which last between 4 to 5 years and will only need to be replaced once during the product’s lifetime.
