This is not my first Food Saver Vacuum Sealer. My last one was over 25 years old. The new one works great but for me the problem is the cord storage is a pain and the remote bag vacuum could use a clip or some other way to fasten it to the machine when storing the machine. But in 25 years and this one stops working I will probably get another one regardless.👍👍

I bought this today and was excited to use it. It does not work and will be returned tomorrow. There are 2 seal buttons, and it should be a vacuum and a seal button. It does not work at all. Very disappointed. The handheld does not work either.

- Using compatible FoodSaver bags and ensuring they are positioned correctly in the sealing area.
- Checking the unit is plugged in properly and that the power source is working.

Horrible customer service at FoodSaver

I purchased a VS2196 FoodSaver sealer sometime in 2021. The unit stopped working in 2025 so I contacted the company and was thrilled that they would replace my unit with a brand new model VS3110. I got this unit in August 2025 used it maybe 6 times and in less than 6 months the vacuum stopped working. I contacted the company again expecting the same quality of service but was disappointed to learn that I needed the original invoice from 4 years ago. Without this piece of paper they won’t do anything to replace or repair their product. Stay away from FoodSaver their products are expensive and don’t hold up with minimal use. Not to mention they don’t back their products for warranty. I will never buy one of their products again.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Does this model have a moist setting? More importantly.. does it work? Also how much bag material is wasted..I'm referring to the two inches. (1in each end) I loose every time I bag and seal something..

  • A: Thank you for your interest in our products. Yes, our FoodSaver® 3000 Vacuum Sealing System has moist and dry custom settings. You would use the Moist Setting if you are attempting to seal foods (not soups or sauces) that have any liquids or possible moisture in the bag. To seal food items such as soups and sauces, please pre-freeze before sealing. This changes the seal level for type of food - moist or dry. Liquids can be drawn up by the vacuum process and liquids between the layers of the bag can have a cooling effect on the heat seal. Adjustable Food Settings Seal Level can extend the seal time to compensate for liquid and create a secure, reliable and air-tight seal. Have a wonderful day!
