We are renovating our home and have no kitchen. This hot plate has been great for cooking everything from breakfast to dinner! Heats up very quickly and so easy to use! Size is great as it fits all our pots and pans. Love it!

Very fast heat, extremely easy to clean. The portability of this unit is fantastic. We had an accident with the last one It was unfortunately no longer usable. Went the same day to replace it on sale at CT. Really do not want to be without one of these in my kitchen.

Okay, but has limitations

Worked okay, but wasn't powerful enough to bring a large stock pot to a boil. I wouldn't even call it simmering. Ended up returning it.
If all you are looking for is to fry with a pan it should do the trick fine.

Hi Hammer, MASTER Chef Portable Induction Cooktops have less power than built-in induction hobs and come with limitations. Large stock pots will exceed those limits. Use cookware with a diameter of 12–20 cm (4¾"–8") for proper operation.

Tiny little burner!

We love our Heritage brand single-burner portable induction cooktop that we purchased at Canadian Tire but has since been discontinued. Purchased this MASTER Chef cooktop assuming it would be an equivalent product but the burner surface is tiny!! Too small for a frypan or stockpot so we will be returning this induction stove.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Is There a Way to Shut It Completely Off Without Unplugging? The On/Off switch doesn't seem to work like an On/Off Switch. Switching off still leaves the On switch lit with dashes in the information bar. You turn it off (completely) by unplugging? The manual is unclear about this. Did I get a defective unit?

A: When I press my power button, all of the lights turn off except for the power light, which blinks (indicating it’s still plugged in). My fan will typically keep running until the unit has cooled down though, even if the rest of it has turned off.

Q: I hear you can only use magnetic cookware on the induction cook top. Can the non magnetic cookware be made magnetic by attaching some way a magnetic base to the non magnetic cookware. i think i read somewhere one can.

A: Master Chef's portable induction cooktop works with a pressure canner. The canner must be flat based, ferrous metal (stainless steel, iron), and the pot diameter no larger than specified in your instruction booklet.

A: They can be used with regular pots and pans provided the bottoms are magnetized. You can test your pots and pans very easily with a magnet. If it sticks you are good to go. It seems most newer pots are ok.

A: CT, your attached image is small and blurry as heck. This unit allows you to select out of three options: 1. by temp in fahrenheit 2. by temp in celsius 3. by power in watts

A: If a magnet will stick to the bottom of the pot then it will work. Anything like aluminum or cast iron does not work.

A: It has 8 temperature settings. Temp140f..195f..250f..300f..355f..400f..430f..465watts 300 500 700 1000 1200 1400 1600 1800 It brings water to temp very quickly. Super efficient.
