Bought this a month ago because animals kept getting into garbage. As long as it's secured no animal is getting in. Haven't had any issues since.

Great lid for keeping pests out!

Now this version of the rubbermaid garbage can works really well for keeping pests out of the trash. The locking lid is easy to use, and doesn't require herculean strength to undo once in place. I'm very happy that our local trash panda infestation has yet to get into, and open up my trash bags since I bought this new garbage can and lid combo. I did not need to make any modifications to keep the raccoons out of it. The can is very light when empty. Does not have any wheels on it. Holds three mid sized garbage bags inside it if you keep all of the excess air squeezed out of the bags when placing them inside.

Good bin but not fully animal proof, squirrels have been slowing chewing a hole in mine bigger and bigger and you can’t get a replacement lid, I’ll have to buy a new bin which sucks ugh but overall pretty good bin….if you could buy lids separate lol

Q: Is it water/moisture proof? I need to store animal feed without the wrong type of animals getting into it. I'll be kept in a lean-to shack, but the type of feed I need to store absolutely can't get wet or really moist as it will grow mold. How dry do the contents inside stay?

Q: I have disabililties and I would like to know if it will be difficult for me to open. I live with fibromyalgia in a severe form and my hands are often weak and painful. How hard is it to open all the straps on this lids? Have you tested anyone with arthritis? Thanks

Q: What type of plastic is it made of? If it's polyethylene people can use them to make outdoor nutrient reservoirs. The locking lid would be great for that use case. The type of plastic matters though.
