Sleek, simple Kettle

I bought this because I wanted a non-toxic material and something without auto shut off. It does boil rather quickly on medium-high without the handle becoming hot. Overall, does what it needs to, no complaints.
Would be nice: - a louder whistle that could be heard from another room. Really only audible if you are close by in the kitchen.
- A way to pour the water out without removing the entire lid.

Q: Do I put the thin metal trivet on top of my gas stove burner and then place this kettle to heat? Or I can directly place this kettle on my gas stove (I’m afraid of breaking the glass)?

A: You do not need to use the trivet on a gas stove. It only needs to be used on an electric stove with exposed coils.
