RED TEK OilCharge12 A/C Universal Refrigerant Lubrication Oil is designed to provide maximum lubrication protection and keep your air conditioning system running longer and smoother. OilCharge12 contains a highly polar molecule that works synergistically with compressor oil to improve the performance of air conditioning and refrigeration systems by increasing heat transfer in the condenser and evaporator coils. OilCharges12’s polarized molecule bonds to the metal inside the system by removing the insulated buildup of oil and forming a conductive layer to improve heat transfer.

Q: do we use the same hose with gauge we use to fill A/C refrigerant ? I dont see any instruction for the hose

A: Yes you do. By the way, I discovered that Walmart Canada carries refrigerate R134a which is what all new car AC systems need., R12A is compatible but R134 is what is required. I bought some in the USA because I was told it was not sold to individuals in Canada but this is not correct.

Q: Will adding the oil increase the pressure in the system? I recharged the system to the correct pressure, but afterwards, the oil analyzer is registering very low. If I add the oil, will it overcharge the system?

A: Added the oil as there was some detected as a small leak. Pressure was maintained and readings consistent.

Q: I have low A/C oil pressure, can Redtek lubricant solve the problem?
1 Answer
A: I am not sure how the customer checked the A/C system for “low oil pressure”. It is usually refrigerant pressure that we measure when we connect our installation hose and gauge. If the pressure in the A/C system is low, it usually means your refrigerant level is low and will need to be topped up. You can check the A/C oil level and acid contamination with the A/C Oil Analyzer CTC # 0146126.

A: Hi, POE oil is Polyolester Oil. Our RED TEK oil charge is also a Polyolester Oil.
This product will work on this application.
Thanks,

Q: How do I know if I need this product? At what step should I add this product for an empty A/C?
I'll start by adding some Red Tek (RT) refrigerant (until the compressor starts), then RT Dry, then RT Leak Stop, then RT ProSeal, then RT Oil Charge (if I need it - how do I know?). Does this sound correct?

Hi Sam,
Please be advised that each additive has 2 oz of refrigerant in it. It is best to add your additives first as you may not need much refrigerant added after that. You could eliminate the DyeCharge step completely and just install the sealants and see if that solves the problem. Your system may not need oil. You can purchase an oil analyzer to check this before adding it.

Subject: Email From Redtek Website
Hi RedTek,
It'd be nice if you had the instructions on your website for the other refrigerant treatments. So my car has no A/C. I had it refilled once at a shop and it drained away within a week. I could buy all your various cans of treatment. I suspect - start with the Dye Charge (shows me where the leak is). Then add the Leak Stop followed by Pro Seal (hopefully that stops any leaking). Then add DRY (to get ready for the refill); then add a can or two of Refrigerant; then add some Oil Charge. Hopefully that solves it - you'll have made some money; I'll see whether I have to bring it to a professional or not. Is the sequence above correct? Are all those cans compatible? Why not throw such simple instructions up on your website?
Thank you,
-Sam

Q: Since I will be charging my system by weight, how much actual refrigerant is in a 4 oz can?
1 Answer
A: There is about 2oz in the additive cans. But the customer must use a can of r12a before using the additives to get the compressor going.

Q: Can I use this oil for my new compressor instead of pag oil?
It seems like online i see videos where you buy oil that you pour in to the fill hole in the back of the compressors?
1 Answer
A: The 404 OilCharge can only be used if the compressor is running and is designed to inject through the low side port. The compressor must be filled prior to running or they risk damaging the compressor.
RED TEK does have an Oil that can be added to the compressor but it is a non-stocking item at CTC. Our # 410 8oz liquid Universal Refrigerant Oil, 12per case.
