Q: Does the Genius5 need to plugged into an external power source when charging a car battery?
4 years agoA: Yes, the GENIUS5 does not have its own internal battery, it needs to be plugged into AC power at all times to operate.

Q: Is this safe to use on a ( 2023 Toyota Hybrid for example ) for the small 12 volt battery ( not the hybrid battery ) that only functions to start the vehicle and power the lights without possibly damaging the ICU and can it be used inside the car?
3 years agoA: Sorry I mixed my question up. The small 12 volt battery in a 2023 Rav4 Hybrid does not start the vehicle. It is just for keeping power to the ECM ( computer) so the vehicle can detect the key fob and for some interior lights to work etc. The High voltage hybrid battery starts the vehicle and also charges the small 12 volt battery via the inverter when you’re driving. The problem is that small 12 volt battery will run down on power if you only drive occasionally for short trips or park it for weeks/ months on end.

Q: Wil this charger work with a timer or it requires to be reset when the power is lost?
4 years agoA: The charger will resume charging automatically in the last charge mode used when power is restored after power was lost.

Q: Can it be used with 12V9Ah fishing auger battery?
a year agoA: For such a small battery, we recommend a charger rated no more than 3 amps. Roughly a 1 amp charger would be most ideal. Canadian Tire offers numerous battery chargers in the 0.75 to 3 amp range.

Q: How often should I be charging my car battery to maintain health?
2 years agoA: Assuming your alternator is working properly, and you drive your vehicle often and far enough..... Never! Your car's charging system should be able to keep up with all the electrical demands you put on the battery. HOWEVER, if you store your car for long periods of time, have lots of power hungry aftermarket add-ons, or if your battery is getting to the end of it's life, you may have to charge it up occasionally. This charger has 2 great features that you should take advantage of: The ability the trickle charge and maintain batteries over long storage. A repair function which can break up sulphite deposits in older lead acid batteries.

2 years agoA: Genius5 do not have built in power bank. It can only do battery charging when connected to house power outlet.

Q: L noco geniuss 5 dans son kit es-qu'il a un fil de raccord pour le mettre en permanence (autre que les pinces). Si non se vend t'il une connexion qui fait dessus. Es-il a l'épreuve de l'eau.

A: Les pinces sont fixé aux fil par des boulons de 6mm et s'enlevent facilement. Le fil peut donc être connecté directement sur la batterie. De plus le fil est muni d'un fusible et d'un connecteur il est donc en deux section, le chargeur peut être enlever sans enlever le fil de la batterie. Une fixture est fournie pour monter le chargeur dans le compartiment moteur. Le chargeur est résistant aux éclaboussures mais non submersible. Protection IP65. Et oui des accessories existent et peuvent être acheter séparément. Très bon chargeur, très performant et facile d'utilisation.
