Product Details

The Nautilus MOTOMASTER NAUTILUS EXTREME AGM Group Size 27 Battery utilizes advanced AGM technology for exceptional power and dependability. With over 400 charge/discharge cycles at 80% depth and more than 900 at 50% depth, it delivers robust and long-lasting power, even during deep discharges. This battery boasts rapid recharging and is both safe and maintenance-free. Its ultra-low self-discharge allows storage of up to 2 years without capacity loss. Vibration resistant and boasting a lengthy lifespan, it offers 1750 Pulse crank amps, 1080 marine crank amps, 92 amp hours, 195-minute reserve capacity. Dimensions: 12-3/8" L x 6-3/4" W x 8-3/4" H.

  • MOTOMASTER NAUTILUS EXTREME AGM Group 27 High Performance AGM Deep Cycle Battery features 99.99% pure lead AGM (absorbed glass mat) technology and precision robotic assembly to deliver extreme power, endurance and reliability

  • Capable of over 400 charge/discharge cycles to 80% depth of discharge and over 900 cycles at 50% depth of discharge - that's more than 2x the cycle life of regular AGM batteries and 4X the cycle life of conventional flooded deep cycle batteries

  • More useable power: Unlike conventional flooded batteries that should never be taken beyond 50% depth of discharge, pure lead AGM technology can withstand deep discharges allowing you to take advantage of more of the battery's rated amp hour

  • Rapid recharging: Accepts the maximum amount of amps that an alternator or battery charger can deliver for astonishingly fast recharges

  • Clean, safe and truly maintenance-free: no messy or dangerous acid spills, can be mounted in virtually any position, no gassing (under normal charging), never requires water to be added and brass terminals that will never build corrosion

  • Extremely low self-discharge: stores for up to 2 years on a full charge with no loss of capacity, ideal for off-season storage

  • Extreme vibration resistance: up to 28X more vibration resistant than a conventional marine battery to handle the roughest waters or terrain

  • Longest life: Up to 2x longer service life than regular AGM batteries and 6x longer than conventional flooded batteries

  • Group size: 27

  • 1750 Pulse crank amps, 1080 marine crank amps, 92 amp hours, 195 minute reserve capacity

  • Dimensions: 12-3/8" L x 6-3/4" W x 8-3/4" H (314 x 171 x 222 mm)

  • Please return your old lead-acid battery to Canadian Tire for recycling. Virtually 100% of the content can be recycled and used in the manufacture of new lead-acid batteries.

Deep cycle satisfaction

I use 2 of these for my house batteries on my boat. So nice to wake up in the morning, turn on the furnace, and have the battery level never drop below 12.5 volts.

Seems to be a good set of batteries for a 24 volt trolling motor. Used twice and had no issues

So far so good

Using this to power my newport trolling motor on my inflatable. Decent. I have this in a MinnKota battery box but had to turn the lid around so it could fit as the secondary terminals sit up just a bit higher than the main connection posts so the lid won't shut unless it's backwards, no big deal really. Battery is of course really heavy but we all know this. I'll update this as we go through more fishing trips and recharge cycles.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: I want to replace the old lead/acid battery in my 2018 THOR CHATEAU motorhome with an AGM battery... The converter in my RV states that it supplies 13.6 VDC nominal to power all the branch circuits. Will this be enough to keep this AGM battery charged?

  • A: I believe these batteries are made by Odyssey. I would contact them for technical questions.

Q: This is rated as Group 27. Can you verify the dimensions of this battery please? 10-7/8" L x 6-3/4" W x 8-7/8" H . It would seem that it should be longer than 10-7/8"

  • A: This battery is presently in my boat which is in storage. I do remember that it was a compact size. That is because it is a TPPL (thin plate pure lead) chemistry and packs a massive punch for its size. Slow discharge and 300% faster charge. The size indicated by Canadian Tire on their store website was accurate if that helps. It is weighs more because there is a lot more lead and it is 99.9% pure. I would highly recommend it.

Q: Charging and voltage output? I have 3 group 27 batteries connected in parallel to an Inteli-Power PD2130 smart charger. I can't seem to get more than 12.8 volts after a week of charging. Shouldn't these batteries last for a few days hooked up like this?

2 Answers
  • A: It sounds like you've got two banks of the charger dedidcated to your two starting batteries leaving only one 10A bank to charge your 3 house batteries connected in parallel at about 300 total Ah. Yes, that could be why your house batteries are arguably low. Also, I believe the default float voltage for AGM batteries on PD chargers is 12.8V (whereas it it 13.3V for flooded batteries) based on my google search of their manual. You should contact Progressive Dynamics for there recommendation - I suspect they will recommend changing the setting to flooded but they may also tell you that you need more/another charger or a different set up for this much battery.

Q: Can you please provide the Lowest recommended allowable operational voltage? Also, from adjacent Q/A's it appears the maximum allowable voltage is 14.8 volts, please confirm.

1 Answer
  • A: Of course, level of discharge will affect cycle life - greater cycle life with shallower discharges and reduced cycle life with deeper discharges. To that end, the recommended discharge voltage is as high as possible; the practical lowest discharge voltage is 10.8V; the maximum recommended discharge voltage is 9.0V. Yes, maximum charge voltage is 14.8V. (Allowable range is 14.1 to 14.8V.)

Q: manufacture date? 8399606190 or mc2979068873 or nsbg240090 or 49cfr173,159(d)(l)(ii)fls-1-0018

  • A: Hello. On the same sticker that has this serial number there are two digits (letter + number) that indicate the manufacturing date. The letter is the month (e.g. A=Jan, B=Feb, C=Mar... N=Dec). Note that E and I are excluded. The number is the year (e.g 8=2018, 9=2019, 0=2020). You can also post a picture of the label so we can assist you.

Q: The spec says 8-7/8" high. Is this to the top of the case or to the top of the posts? If to the top of the case, please advise the height to the top of the battery posts.

1 Answer
  • A: Dimensions listed are maximum and includes things like posts, ledges, lips, etc. Height of the case excluding battery posts is 8-1/8". Remember, too, that these batteries can be installed in any orientation (upside down not recommended).

Q: regarding Nautilus AGM Deep cycle batteries- for my boat, I would usually bring the batteries home for the winter- what are the implications of leaving the AGM batteries in the boat over winter. - Toronto area- -20 is about the coldest it gets here.

1 Answer
  • A: Because of their thin plate, pure lead design, Nautilus Ultra XD batteries have a very low self-discharge rate. As long as you fully charge the battery(s) before storage and ensure they are disconnected from the application, they will be just fine over a Canadian winter. You cannot do the same with flooded batteries. For anyone who knows what it's like to lug batteries around or find a power source to charge them, this convenience is just another reason why these Nautilus Ultra XD batteries are worth the premium.
