Not worth the investment

I guess when you go for a cheaper tent... well you get what you paid for. I’ve had this tent 3 years and let’s just say, one massive thunderstorm destroyed it. It’s fine the first time you use it... but once you pack it back up, the bottoms get messed up. The second time I used it was exactly what happened - we used a knife to pop the button back in place. The third time, I luckily didn’t have that issue except the zipper kept getting stuck in the fly. But the fourth time: severe thunderstorm plus outbound tent equals a totalled tent. Save yourself the aggravation and fights, get a normal tent with normal poles.

No, I do not recommend this product.

  • Don’t worry - I ran for shelter when this started to collapse at 1:30 in the morning.

Garbage - Do not buy

Got the tent for car camping. In anything but the calmest of conditions the tent will collapse. A mild breeze brings the poles down. Unless your entire family are members of the lollipop kids you cannot get 5 or even 4 people in this tent. If it rains then you're getting wet. CT knows how awful these tents are and that's why they have a no return policy on them. This is just shameful for any company and especially so for a Canadian one. Don't waste your money. If you want a free one you can have ours.

Great for the sale price!

Great tent for the sale price, easy to put up. But fly isn’t huge as described! And one reviewer said a 6ft person could stand in this but I’m not sure how because I’m 5ft6”and I can stand but have to duck my head. I would also say that it could sleep 5 but with room for nothing else. It’s comfortable for 2 with our queen sized mattress and a space for our bag! As I said great for the sale price.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great tent for your backyard but nearly useless when it rains or its windy. Rated for 5 people but more suited for 2 adults max.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Questions

Q: Do I need to buy a separate tarp? So this will be my first camping. I bought Outbound Easy-Up Dome Tent, 5-Person. I was wondering if i should buy a tarp separately or the floor material of the tent is good enough to keep it dry.

  • A: A ground cloth is a common camping practice. The ground cloth under the floor helps prolong its life. It protects the floor from rocks, sticks, and sharp objects or wear points from piercing through. It also provides additional insulation and moisture protection. The cloth should be smaller than the floor to prevent rain from running under the tent.
