Didn't last as long as I would have liked

Handles a fair bit of weight, but the point where the handle attaches to the body of the wagon is a weak point. The simple act of turning around corners puts enormous strain on it. After a couple of years, the metal sheared off completely.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: How is this at the beach on sand? Or if we went through a trail with dirt or rocks?

3 Answers
  • A: The wheels are 7" tall and 1.5" wide. They have a deep groove tread in them. There's 8" ground clearance so I'd say you'd be fine. In sand the only problem I can see is the weight of your load. Put 400lbs in it and it will sink into the sand. I found this cart the best deal for what you get. Many are double the price and just as good.

Q: Is this wagon suitable and comfortable enough to transport small children

3 Answers
  • A: All Outbound and Woods wagons sold by Canadian Tire are designed for carrying camping and/or outdoor items – not children. There are specific safety requirements needed in order to qualify as a “child carrying device” – retention straps, headrest support, etc. - much like strollers have – and none of these features are built into the wagons. Our wagons are not intended as a child carrying device and therefore do not have the safety features that would adequately protect your children during use. It is not recommended to be used in this manner.

Q: I can't get the wheels to stay in - the instructions say you should push them in until you hear a click, but no matter how hard I push there is never a click, and the wheels just fall out as soon as I lift the wagon. Is there a way to fix this?

2 Answers
  • A: Thanks for your inquiry into the OUTBOUND Wagon. We are sorry you had difficulties attaching the wheels as per directions, but you should be able to fix the issue as follows: 1. Wheels are a friction/pressure fit. The pin locks into the frame when you push it in 2. The only way to remove it is with a hammer and knocking it back down out of the mount 3. Suggest you place a small block of wood on the wheel mount (to prevent denting or scratching) and tab the hammer down onto it to release from the seated position. You will need to hit it with enough force to “unseat” the connection point – so securing the wagon on a bench or work surface is a good idea 4. NOTE – once removed – you will want to ensure the wheel is lined up properly before pushing it back into the mount. You can double check before reattaching by ensuring it is in line with the direction it needs to roll in – straight ahead Hope that helps out!

Q: Is the handle made of steel or is it plastic?

2 Answers
  • A: Not sure about steel, but it is medal. Going on 2 years and lots of use with this wagon. Make sure you put the tires in the right sides if you purchase or you have to lay sideways, step on the tire and pull hard. They do come off.
