I just bought this for my 2018 Gla250. My Gla250 needs to be wired for android auto to work. 2019 models and up dont need to be wired. I wanted to try an adaptor so its not wired to my phone. Following the steps was decent. Connection was difficult to my phone. Under WiFi Direct it would constantly be in loop trying to connect... simply it never did. It did not even open up on my car screen. When its wired it normally shows "Initializing Android Auto." It kept timing out. My phone is up to date. I dont really know why this didnt work for me? It could be a actual console issue, maybe a circuit port issue?.... either way, it did not work and kept timing out. Also I seen an Ottocast app where you supposedly need a subscription? I could be wrong but... definitely something I am not doing. Im sure it works for others! Try it, if not, do a me and return it.

I have read mixed reviews.. but mine was plug ‘n play and works perfectly in my 2023 Bronco Sport. Carplay appears on the screen in roughly the same amount of time as it does on my wireless system in my van - just a few seconds.
