Broke after two months of use

This fan was amazing for the first two months. We were impressed with its ability to move both up and down and side to side, creating good airflow throughout our entire bedroom. All of the different functions worked really well. However, after a couple of months of use, I noticed a clicking noise coming from the gears- not a great thing to listen to in the middle of the night.. It makes sense that something with such an impressive range of movement would eventually start to wear down. After a week of the clicking noise, the fan stopped working in the middle of the night following a short buzz/zap sound. I returned the fan and received a store credit which I used to purchase a much cheaper and simpler fan with fewer moving parts.

The good and the bad

First the good. For the size of the fan it moves a lot of air, considerably more than my 20" box fan. On whisper mode it is very quite yet you can still feel a "breeze" when the fan is over 20 ft away. The rotate and tilt option is great. Now the bad. After a few weeks of use, the fan now makes a constant clicking noise when rotating, as if the gears are no longer in sync. Almost a grinding a noise. The LED lights on the front are absolutely unnecessary and ridiculous. Why do people think everyone wants bright LED lights on everything. The lights are too bright to use this in the bedroom at night. If you have fan on speed 2, rotating and tilting, 4 LED's are lit and are brighter than if you plugged in a nightlight. On the highest speed the fan moves a lot of air, but as expected, it is also extremely loud due to the size of the fan. I wish they made this in a 12 inch model, without the LED lights!

Q: Can this fan be taken apart somehow for cleaning? Model 043-5223-8

A: We do not recommend taking them apart for safety purposes. The customer can use a vacuum to clean dust from inside the fan then a clean damp cloth to wipe the exterior of the fan. Please ensure that fan is unplugged during cleaning.
