My handyman installed this fan and it is beautiful! Price was fair, but one big flaw is the very weak/ flimsy / cheap pull chain and chain mechanism that he pointed out after installing it. Would still recommend. if on sale.

Pull chain mechanism broke after about a month of light use. Repaired it which was a colausal pain in the butt and it broke again. Nice looking fan but cheap guts.

Ceiling fan

We purchased this fan last summer, about 9 months ago. It is quiet and seemed to work well. After not using it all winter I tried to turn it on and the pull chain stuck in the high on position. I was unable to turn it down or off. I am not pleased as we only actually used it for less than 3 months.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Don't purchase this light

As much as I liked the look & size of this fixture for our bedroom, once installed it became immediately apparent that it is very cheaply made. The globe didn't fit straight, the 2 40 watt bulbs shed very little light, the fan was very loud and the switch to change the speed seemed to work intermittently. Don't waste your money.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: why is there two or three green ground wires and where do I connect these wires?

A: All of the green wires are required by UL or cUL so that all metal parts of the fan are properly grounded. You should combine all of the green wires and connect to the house ground. This is typically done with a wire nut.

Q: Re: using using 60 watt bulbs instead of 40 your answer was unclear. Should I be using CFL bulbs, would that be brighter??

A: The customer has two choices for bulbs for this ceiling fan. The can either use a bulb with a candelabra style base or a CFL style with standard base. Before the customer purchases a bulb for this or any other light fixture it is strongly recommended that they check to ensure they choose a bulb with the proper wattage. The wattage for the proper bulb can be on the outside of the bulb socket (where the bulb screws into the fixture). It is totally up to the customer what style they want to choose as it is very much a personal decision. CTC offers an array of light bulbs in various styles, wattages, and brightness.

Q: This ceiling fan is too dim with two 40 w bulbs . What will happen if I put 60 watt bulbs in?

A: All ceiling fan manufacturers are required by the EPA to limit the wattage of light fixtures provided for ceiling fans based on government legislation (EPACT 2005). The limitation is 190 watts combined total for any down-light. Normal incandescent bulbs are no longer allowed to be packed with ceiling fans. Ceiling fan manufacturers must either switch to their sockets to fit smaller candelabra base bulbs or supply you with CFL bulbs if they use a standard base socket. They are also required to place a 190 Watt limiter or fuse in the fixture that restricts you from over-lamping it.

A: There are information in the instruction manual specifc explaining how to set up the green ground wires . Please read it carefully, or contact a certified electrician to help set this part up. Unfortunately, we do not have instruction video on youtube.
