Commercial quality at a bargain price

I have been looking at this system for quite a few years for the roof line of the house(200 feet). I started off for a couple years with string lights off the shelf to figure out what I really needed. It was ok but found out for 200' at 6" to 8" bulb spacing, it made it a chore and eventually they don't last. Was looking at commercial sets where you
customize your own length but came across these sort of pre made sets last year. This year, at clearance prize it was a bargain for me. It was a game changer for installation purpose. Way less bulbs. The bulbs are a little brighter than commercial sets but again for price wise, it was amazing. Love the 12" spacing, really has the commercial looks of them. It will be easy to fix and more robust.

Not sure how this product currently has 4.8 stars.
Tested the string before installation as I preloaded with bulbs.
Once the 100' run was hung 5 sockets were broken.
Faulty two piece clamp on lampholder design.
Save yourself the frustration and look for a string that has a solid lampholder not this.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Huge design flaw

Just had these installed the other day and the installer ran into an issue. Since these only have a hook on one side it means you can only install them going in one direction. Sounds strange I know but it's true. Meaning if you install them on a soffit the plug will always be on the right side, so they'll go from right to left. In my case I had to go down to the lower floor via the downspout now all of a sudden I'm changing directions and the hooks are at the bottom instead of the top. Solution was to use metal clips and screw them into the soffit, but ya weird issue with these.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Great for decorating a house

I received these for an honest review and I found these are very strong and sturdy compare to past Christmas string lights sets I used. Its great if you want to be creative with a light pattern. The only thing I found that I had difficulties with was using clips to keep the lights up. The thing I found was the clips that is attached to these, aren’t very useful to you. Also I found that you can’t use just any Noma clips for these lights. My husband and I managed to find that the best ones to use is the NOMA Quick-Clip 100 Universal Clips. I found with these, it made putting up the lights a lot easier, so please look for these when using these products.

I absolutely love the design that this company has come up with for outdoor Christmas lights. To add the little hook on each individual bulb socket makes installation quick easy and painless! This feature alone has made me a loyal purchaser of these lights!

Q: Can the string be cut to a specific length and “capped” with a male or female plug then attached to another cut length (ie to go around windows, etc)?

A: Hello JH87. Thank you for your question. Technically, this string can be cut, if you know what you are doing. You must use a male plug end with the 7 amp fuse and can not exceed 840 Watts total. But it's not recommended without proper technical training. There are other produces available on the market that are better suited for the type of installation you are doing. A: Hello RandD. Thank you for your question. All clips match all strings, that's the easy part. However, I don't know what type of eavestrough you have. As there are many styles and designs, we try to offer a variety of clips and universal clips to accommodate. If you can, try and get a few good close up photos of your eavestrough profile from several angles and bring them with you to your neighbourhood Canadian Tire.
